Peter Mac MRI Upgrade

Peter Mac MRI Upgrade
Replacement of MRI and installation of new Faraday cage and associated building works. This involved creating a path through the Hospital to remove the existing Magnet. Removal of the old Faraday cage and redevelopment of the existing space, to accommodate a larger 3T Siemens MRI.
As this was the Hospital’s only MRI, the project needed to run at a very high pace to achieve minimal downtime. This involved extensive co-ordination between Trades and Hospital Staff, whilst maintaining a sensitive Hospital environment with strict dust and infection control measures.
Seven years later we are working there again as part of the $1 billion Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre (VCCC) relocation works.
