Building Works:
Extension to low level Psychiatric ward and alterations to existing building.
Site Specific Building Solutions:
DNAco was invited to tender these works at the Essendon Hospital, after successfully completing the hospital’s theatre upgrades in 2004. DNAco was a preferred tenderer for this project.
The building works involved demolition of part of the existing ward that had structural problems. The new structure was then built on screw piles, some to a depth of 4m. As the ward was to house low level psychiatric patients, the design needed to comply with the DHS guidelines for structure with no ligature points. DNAco worked alongside the architect to resolve these specific design requirements
Contract Result:
The Project finished on time and met the client’s expectations.
