Building Works:
The construction of a new church facility including a 1000 seat auditorium, offices plus various meeting rooms and kids church facilities.
Site Specific Building Solutions:
As the existing factories had been constructed over non-engineered fill, it was decided that the new structure would be supported on bored piers penetrating through the existing floor slab.
Because of the size of the final building envelope it had to be divided into 2 fire compartments. This required a firewall being built to create the separation between the compartments. This wall was to be built to the underside of the roof sheeting 8 metres above floor level and to have no lateral support until “Stage 2” was completed at a later date. Temporary lateral support had to be installed as part of Stage 1.
The church was instructed to ensure that noise emission from the building was kept to a minimum. This was designated as part of the permit conditions and created a few headaches for the design team “Lateral Dimensions”. The works that ensued were both “tedious and successful” with a substantial amount of high level work on scizzor lifts and the like to create both wall and ceiling noise barriers. The result was a complete success with the appropriate testing proving that we had achieved the desired results.
Contract Result;
The building works were completed to the satisfaction of all involved and within the timeframe allotted.
The working relationship between the client and DNAco ended on a high note with plenty of encouragement for our management team and overall construction crew.
The CCCW team suggested that DNAco would be their preferred builder for Stage 2 when it eventuated
