Project Specific Building Solutions:
The client, Austin Health, engaged DNACo Construction in July 2008 to refurbish and construct a High Dependency Unit (HDU) & Low Dependency Unit (LDU) and bedrooms as well as an enclosed courtyard for the HDU. This included a major upgrade of air conditioning on both Ground & First Floors of The Marian Drummond building. The project needed to be staged so as to minimise interruption to existing Mental health services within the building. Initial challenges were: the access restrictions, restricted working hours for noisy works and securing unfinished, exposed work every day so as not to create hazards for patients.
Contract Result:
The project team in conjunction with the client and the project manager worked through the above issues together to deliver the project within time and budget.
